You have so much to do and you manage to make time for everyone and everything, but then there’s no more time for you
Maybe you’re someone who likes to please others. Maybe you have a hard time saying “no” to people when they ask you to do something. Perhaps you’re a control freak and like to get things done the “right way” so you take on one more task and then you discover there’s no more time left in the day for you.
“It’s just another project,” you say to yourself. “I can fit it into my schedule.” Then, before long, you’ve over-estimated how much time you really have or how long the project will take, you’re overwhelmed with too much to do and you discover there’s no more time for you.
You start to feel resentful of everyone and everything around you because your plate is full and because there’s just no time for you. You can’t go back on your word. You made a commitment. You’re dedicated. You’ve got to get it all done even if you have to burn the midnight oil.
So you put in the extra hours, stay late at work, skip dinner or the night out with your friends. There’s no time for the gym today. You don’t make it home to tuck in the kids. Then when you do get home, you’re exhausted and you wake in the morning after a sleepless night because you had too much on your mind, only to realize you’ve got to start that grind all over again.
You’ve made time for everyone and everything in your world but the one person who really matters the most in your life—you.
